Wired Dude Tee
May 2005
Art: Chuck Cleaver.  Design: hbh and wddt.
Chuck Cleaver drew the "wired dude" for a flyer promoting an Ass Ponys and Azalea Snail show circa 1995.  This design was silk screened onto black and dark green shirts.  Click on the images to enlarge, then scroll down to see close-up details.

This shirt is available for purchase!  Click here to find out how!

circa 2001
Part of an auction package for Twangfest 5. Items include the "forbidden" tee, a then-advance copy of Lohio, the Cedars and Stars single, and the party game. I lost this pin-the-tail-on-the-Ass-Pony game during a move in January, 2003. A great loss. Still looking for a replacement.

(See 1995 "AP" t-shirt for more information on the "forbidden" tee.)

Harry O's Tee
2001
Art: Harry O
Harry O designed this t-shirt to celebrate his first-ever live Ass Ponys experience.  Harry flew all the way in from Seattle to catch a memorable AP performance at the Mad Frog on May 26, 2001.

The other one, the one named Harry....

A&M Records Logo Tee
circa 1995
Thanks to Joli from NJ for supplying the top picture (red shirt).
These t-shirts feature the A&M Records logo changed to a more meaningful state.  A&M actually threatened legal action and ordered a cease of production of this shirt.  Luckily, some of them survive.  Guess ol' Herb didn't have a sense of humor about that kind of stuff.

Posing with the red shirt are set lists from a 1996 NYC appearance and the CD insert from The Known Universe.

Click on the image of the either t-shirt for a larger image.  If you scroll down on the page with the enlarged blue logo, there is a close up/detail view of the logo.

Worthstock 1994 Tee
1994
Art: unknown
Ass Ponys shared the stage at the 1994 rendition of Worthstock at Swarthmore College, a liberal arts school in the Philadelphia suburb of Swarthmore, PA.  The Worthstock Festival is still an annual event at Swarthmore, where "liberal arts" means more than just "you want fries with that?"

Headliners Small 23 put out a few albums in the early 90s with links to Archers of Loaf and other indie bands.  The other bands... who knows?

Click on image to enlarge. "It's Summer Here" Flying Snake Tee
circa 1994 or 1995
Art by Chuck Cleaver
The front graphic is the same found on the liner notes from the seven-inch vinyl compilation Ain't This Bliss With You and This, though the left/right aspect is inverted.  Click here to see the liner note picture.  Chuck relates that some people asked him just exactly what is that thing shooting through the air, a spoon with teeth?  (It's pretty clear to me; the guy on the shirt thinks he's died and gone to hell.)

The back of the shirt features the same font used on the album Electric Rock Music and related promotional material.

 Naked Hootenanny Tee
circa 1991 (?)
Artist: unknown
Argh!  An Ass ponys t-shirt with full frontal nudity?  Yes, naturists playing wholesome American music, perhaps Ass Ponys in another life.

Jumping Men Tee
circa 1990
Artist: Anna, Chuck's daughter, when she was about five years old.
Simplistic, primitive art done in a double-lined day glow that really messes with your eyes and stuff, man.  Anna did the lettering and all.  Not sure if she did the silk screening or not.

The First Ever and Rarest Official Ass Ponys Tee
circa 1989  (?)
Artist: unknown
Giant man kneeling in front of a tiny muscle car.  Freudian?

Only three of these were ever produced.  Dave allegedly used one in an oil spill emergency.  Here's one.  The other is in location unknown.
